WHAT'S HAPPENING

Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States.  Red Ribbon Week at RMS was observed October 20-24th and our student council planned many fun activities for this week.  Today was "Too Smart To Start" - Nerd Day.  Check out the picture below of our teacher, Mr. Herberts, and student, Caeley Trueblood, getting into character!!!

There is a 1:30 dismissal on Friday this week and no school next week for Fall Break.  Classes will resume on November 3rd.

Band students; please take your instruments and music home over break

 

IMEA students need to be here at the Middle School next Saturday, Nov. 1st at 5:10am.  We will be leaving at 5:15am!  Make sure you have your music and dress clothes!

 

Boys’ basketball will practice from 4:30-6:30 today.

 

Any 7th or 8th grade student interested in helping elementary students with their homework after school should see Ms. Campbell.

 

I still have a house key on a lanyard in the office that needs to be identified.

Sangamon County Tournament – 7/8 grade girls basketball

Saturday 7th grade vs. Pleasant Plains @ 12:30 in DIVERNON, bus leaves at 11:10

Saturday 8th grade vs. Auburn @ 3:45 in DIVERNON, bus leaves at 2:15

If the girls win, they advance to Tuesday night’s games.  Those games will be played in PAWNEE.

 

Don’t forget to bring in your Box Tops, soda tabs, Campbell’s Labels for Education and Coke Rewards!  Collection containers are in the office.

 

Attention Community Members:  Our annual Veteran’s Day Assembly will be November 10th at 1:30 p.m. in the MS Gym; Veterans may arrive at 1:00 for check-in.  We invite community members to send in photos of local veterans to Mrs. Mendenhall at jmendenhall@rivertonschools.org.  Please include a name and title, branch of military, and a jpg image.  The information will be added to the slideshow.  They may also send in new names and addresses to be added to our mailing list!
