  • RMS 8th Grade Science Fundraiser

During science in 8th grade at RMS, students have been learning about fresh water resources.  They’ve learned about where it comes from, how water gets treated so it’s safe to drink, and how we (society) can conserve water and limit pollution.  Did you know that in many areas throughout our world, children and families do not have access to safe and clean water?  As a result, the 8th grade class voted in favor of participating in a fundraiser to help!  This year, we will support an organization called Waves for Water, which provides clean water filters and resources to areas around the world who are in need!

Eighth graders are hoping to meet their fundraising goal of $700 toward their project named “Spinning into a New Beginning.”  All money donated will go to the area near Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where Hurricane Odile caused widespread damage last fall.

Please help us reach our goal!  You can donate directly by visiting our webpage located at http://www.wavesforwater.org/fundraiser/spinning-into-a-new-beginning and clicking on the blue “Donate” button.  Donations may be also dropped off at RMS in a clearly marked envelope.  Thank you for supporting us and helping us make a change in our world!

  • Miss Little’s 6th grade classroom project is for six Chromebook laptops for students to engage in learning and cooperatively work with other groups of students during multiple subjects. The link is www.donorschoose.org/misslittle

•    5th grade has a Donor’s Choose project under Mrs. Knisley’s name to get an iPad for the students. This iPad could be used to progress monitor fluency, build skills in XtraMath, and use educational apps that would enhance learning every day! iHelp a Hawk!

  • Please continue to send in your Box Tops for Education. We are having a contest through the end of the school year. For every $500 we earn, the PTO will give a $50 gift card to a lucky winner! For every 20 Box Tops you turn in, your name will be entered in the drawing - and will remain in the drawings through the end of the year. We have already earned $690, so we will be drawing a winner next week from those who have already brought in Box Tops. Once we get to $1,000 we will draw another winner and so on!
